Right out of last week’s Indie Spotlight, we have a fantasy web series from Arrowstorm Entertainment. SAGA: The Shadow Cabal is based from the video game SAGA (a massively multiplayer online strategy game).
While not only respecting the existing story for the fans of the game it is sure to appeal to fantasy lovers everywhere.
Arrowstorm, which has much experience in making feature length films has decided to tackle the ongoing challenge of the format of a web series. The first season is set to be 10 episodes running about 5-10 minutes in length.
Whereas most Kickstarter (KS) campaigns have very little resources and content to start off with, Arrowstorm already has most of the budget to film the series. The KS campaign is raising an additional $10,000 to cover the extra cost of the high quality visual effects that fans expect of the fantasy genre.
With the series being based off existing content, there is already a massive amount of rich history of the SAGA world available to intrigue potential backers. In depth history, details of the characters along with concept drawings and photos of the partial filming of episode one can be found on the series’ website.
Enjoy the trailer below to whet your fantasy appetite:
As of this writing their funding has surpassed 20 percent with a month still remaining.
If the high quality of the cinematography, well-delivered dialogue, coupled with some amazing fight choreography wasn’t enough, each backer level above $5 is rewarded early access to the first episode along with a credit that can be redeemed on playsaga.com. Higher backer levels come with rewards ranging from physical copies of the entire first season, t-shirts, walk on to speaking roles and various IMDB listed producer credits.
I’ve claimed my official backer badge with pride and can’t wait to start watching the first episode. With your help, you can too, and SAGA: The Shadow Cabal will be completed.
